Polarizing microscope is a kind of microscope used to study so-called transparent and opaque anisotropic materials. It has important applications in geology, science and engineering. In botany, such as identification of fibers, chromosomes, spindles, starch grains, cell walls and whether crystals exist in cytoplasm and tissues. In plant pathology, invasive pathogens often cause changes in the chemical properties of tissues, which can be identified by polarizing microscopy.
